人間の行動をデータから理解する — Webやリアルで観測される人間の行動や意思決定に関わるデータを，情報科学や人文科学の知見を用いて理解し， 得られた洞察に基づいて人々の行動を良い方向に変容するための方法論の構築に取り組んでいます．
Understanding human behavior from data — We analyze behavioral and decision-making data observed on the Web and in the real world, combining insights from computer science and the humanities to build methodologies that help change people's behavior for the better.

About Us

山本研究室は，Webやリアルで観測される人間の行動や意思決定に関わるデータを対象に，「行動原理の解明→ 行動モデリング → 行動の変容・支援」を一気通貫で扱うことを特徴としています．また，筑波大学で情報検索研究を展開する4研究室が連携する情報検索リサーチグループ（IR Group at Tsukuba）の構成研究室でもあり，人間の行動や意思決定を観測したマルチモーダルデータに対する情報検索技術の研究開発にも取り組んでいます．本研究室における学生の受け入れは，学部では筑波大学 情報学群 知識情報・図書館学類，大学院では筑波大学大学院 人間総合科学学術院 人間総合科学研究群 情報学学位プログラムを通じて行っています．

The Yamamoto Laboratory works with data on human behavior and decision-making observed on the Web and in the real world, covering the full pipeline of "understanding behavioral principles → behavioral modeling → behavior change support". Our lab is also a member of the IR Group at Tsukuba, a collaboration of four laboratories advancing information retrieval research at the University of Tsukuba, and develops information retrieval technologies for multimodal data capturing human behavior and decision-making. We accept undergraduate students through the College of Knowledge and Library Sciences, School of Informatics, and graduate students through the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Informatics, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba.

  • 行動メカニズムの解明 / Understanding Behavioral Mechanisms

    人文科学分野（行動経済学など）の知見を用いて，人の行動の背後にあるメカニズムをデータから解明します．
    We uncover the mechanisms behind human behavior from data, drawing on knowledge from the humanities such as behavioral economics.

  • 行動・意思決定のモデル化 / Modeling Behavior and Decision-Making

    機械学習など情報技術の道具を用いて，人の行動や意思決定をモデル化します．
    We model human behavior and decision-making using tools from information technology such as machine learning.

  • 行動の変容・支援 / Behavior Change Support

    得られた知見に基づいて，人の行動を良い方向に変容・支援するための技術や方法論を構築します．
    Based on the insights we obtain, we build technologies and methodologies that support positive behavior change.
