1. 人の行動や意思決定に興味があり，学ぶ・知る意欲がある人 / Those curious about human behavior and decision-making
   • 人の○○における行動や意思決定にある傾向を知りたい / You want to discover behavioral tendencies in a particular domain
   • 人が○○に対して無意識に持つ「クセ（バイアス）」を明らかにしたい / You want to reveal the unconscious "habits" (biases) people have
2. データ分析・機械学習に関わる周辺知識やスキルを手に入れたい人 / Those who want to build skills in data analysis and machine learning
   • 画像処理，言語処理，時系列データ処理など，いろんな種類のデータ処理技術を経験してみたい / You want hands-on experience with various data types: images, language, time series, and more

ゼミ・研究室の運営 / Lab Activities

• 全体打ち合わせ（120分／毎週）：全体向けの進捗報告・情報共有をします / Group meeting (120 min, weekly): progress reports and information sharing
• 個別打ち合わせ（30分／適宜）：学生と教員で研究相談をします / Individual meeting (30 min, as needed): research discussions with the supervisor
• 3年生の1月〜3月で専門書を輪読します / Reading circle on a technical book from January to March for third-year students
• 着手・中間・最終発表前に全体で発表練習をします / Group presentation rehearsals before thesis milestone presentations
• 配属された学生には，最終発表後に学会発表を目指してもらいます / Students are encouraged to present at an academic conference after their final thesis presentation

3年次の研究室配属の機会を利用して配属してください．配属の時期や手続きの詳細は知識情報・図書館学類のページをご覧ください．

学外から進学を希望する方 / For External Applicants

情報学学位プログラムへの入学を推奨しています．受け入れにあたっては，研究計画書（A4サイズで2枚程度）を山本までメールでお送りください．対面・オンライン・メールベースいずれかでの相談を行ったうえで，山本が受け入れの可否を判断します．研究生としての受け入れも同様の手順ですが，多くのお問い合わせをいただくため，返信できない場合があります．あらかじめご了承ください．

We recommend applying to the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Informatics. Before applying, please send a research proposal (about two A4 pages) to Prof. Yamamoto by e-mail. After a consultation — in person, online, or by e-mail — Prof. Yamamoto will decide whether you can be accepted. The same procedure applies to research students; however, due to the large number of requests, we may not be able to reply to every inquiry.
